Childrens Catechism.
A long established program designed to train children to receive their First Communion, offered when a parish child is of age to begin his First Communion preparation. The SJPC totally changed this program in summer 2005, the revised program was presented to and approved by the diocese in summer 2005. The new program is as follows:
Objectives: The Children Catechism program has three objectives: 1. To prepare the children for their First Communion; 2. At the same time to offer an opportunity for the parents themselves to review basic data on the Eucharist; 3. To encourage an at home atmosphere for the parents freely to talk about religion with their children. This will facilitate the need for the parents to talk about religion when their children become teenagers.
Reponsible Parties: Kari Weir and Rosemary Koenig.
